Walt Disney World Holiday Events & Celebrations

With Halloween celebrations drawing to a close this week, the time is fast approaching for Christmas events and celebrations to commence across Walt Disney World!

With this in mind we wanted to summarise the offerings across the resort for guests visiting this year. They are sure to make your visit a memorable and very festive one!

Magic Kingdom

Starting November 3rd, Christmas decorations will arrive early to ring in the festivities and guests will be greeted with the welcome return of the ‘Holly Jolly Trolley show’ to Mainstreet USA. Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire will also feature the holiday finale.

When the evening draws in, A Frozen Holiday Wish will light the castle up at 6:15pm daily.

Commencing November 8th on select evenings, Mickeys Very Merry Christmas party will return featuring all the usual magical holiday fun. From the Once upon a Christmas time parade, to Mickey’s most Merriest Celebration show!

This year, Minnie Mouse will invite you to Get in the Christmas spirit and take in a sparkling, yuletide fireworks display as the sky comes alight with festive colors to the tune of some of your favorite carols like Deck the Halls and We Wish You a Merry Christmas. This is one not to be missed!

And finally, Don’t forget the ride overlays too! This coming weekend will see the ‘Jingle Cruise’ holiday overlay appear on the Jungle Cruise attraction!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Beginning November 8th, Animal Kingdom will debut a host of new and expanded festive holiday offerings across every land in the park.

A whimsical winter celebration awaits you at Discovery Island Featuring Animal puppets including a Merry Menagerie of reindeer, foxes and polar bears. And at night, colorful rooftop luminaries and bird lanterns light up the sky.

The nightly Tree of life projection show will debut a new holiday inspired feature display, watch the YouTube video below for the Disney parks preview of this new addition

In addition;

⁃ Over at Pongu Pongu in Pandora – The World of Avatar, discover a display of kitschy décor that combines vintage pieces from Earth with items handcrafted from materials indigenous to Pandora

⁃ DinoLand U.S.A will Get in the holiday spirit for guests to ‘party down’ amid festive decor at Donald’s Dino-Bash!

⁃ Asia will feature glowing flowers, lanterns and more in Anandapur, with the Theater district decorated in celebration of Diwali––the Indian festival of lights in India.

⁃ Africa’s village of Harambe will welcome with a cheerful presentation blending the inspiration and style of Western traditions with the colors and textiles of authentic African celebrations.

⁃ Across The park, Character meet and greets will feature Encounters with your favourite Disney Characters dressed for the Holiday season!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Commencing November 8th, Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! Returns to raise holiday spirit to awe-inspiring new heights and to immerse in beloved scenes from Mickey’s Christmas Carol, Beauty and the Beast, Pluto’s Christmas Tree, Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas and more.

Also returning is ‘Sunset Seasons Greeting’, a breathtaking yuletide projection show boasting amazing laser effects and falling “snow” on Sunset Boulevard in an exuberant celebration which includes stories, songs and holiday cheer brought to you by Disney pals like Mickey, Minnie and Olaf.


With the Food & Wine festival continuing well into November, the International Festival of the Holidays at Epcot will start on November 29th featuring the joyous holiday traditions of the 11 World Showcase nations. Delight in stirring live musical productions, Savor seasonal food & beverage specialties at the expanded Holiday Kitchens And take a festive global tour as costumed performers bring time-honored traditions to life throughout World Showcase.

One of the real must see shows is to head to the America Pavilion to see the Candlelight Processional. Hear the stirring story of Christmas as told by a celebrity narrator, and accompanied by a choir and 50-piece orchestra.

• Whoopi Goldberg – Dec 6 and 7

• Isabella Rossellini – Dec 8 to Dec 10

• Chita Rivera – Dec 11 & Dec 12

• Gary Sinise – Dec 13 to Dec 15

• Pat Sajak – Dec 16 to Dec 18

• Warwick Davis – Dec 19 to Dec 21

• Steven Curtis Chapman – Dec 22 to Dec 24

• Edward James Olmos – Dec 25 & Dec 26

• Marlee Matlin – Dec 27 & Dec 28

• Lisa Ling – Dec 29 & 30

Performances are at 5:00 PM, 6:45 PM and 8:15 PM nightly from November 29th.

Disney Springs

Starting November 8th, the annual Christmas Tree Trail will return, with each tree inspired by Disney characters or themes.

Santa Claus will also be meeting through until Christmas Eve at his chalet.

Disney Resorts

Don’t forget to ensure you take a trip to the Disney Resorts to see unique decorations at each location. Take in the sights (and smells!) of the festive season with such favourites as The Gingerbread displays at the Grand Floridian, the Beach club, the Contemporary and the Boardwalk, or the wonderful tree displays at Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo house, Wilderness Lodge and Polynesian village resorts.
